When you change an aircraft type, which costs change? Some change at once, others do not change at all.
On this short flight accompanying the seventh episode of the Airline Management 101 series, you sort costs by the ICAO classification, solve depreciation and leasing questions, and make a fictional airline’s short-term cost decision. When you complete the flight, you earn the Cost Analyst badge and add one more star to your badge board.
How to play?
Briefing: You learn the route of the flight and your mission.
Mission: You place cost items into direct operating, indirect operating and non-operating cost groups, then test fixed and variable costs, depreciation, leasing and unit costs with short questions.
Decision moment: For a route whose revenue does not even cover its variable costs, you choose a fictional airline’s most sensible short-term step. Every good call earns flight hours; a wrong call costs fuel, but the flight goes on.
Video bonus: If you watch the episode video from inside the game, the hours you earn on that flight are doubled.
