Low-cost airlines raised their share of the world market from nineteen to thirty percent in less than a decade. Today the two business models share the same sky, and the line between them is less sharp than it used to be.
On this short flight accompanying the sixteenth and final episode of Airline Management Essentials, you separate the features of the low-cost and full-service business models, calculate differences in seat density and aircraft utilization, and make a fictional full-service airline's sub-brand decision. When you complete the flight, you earn the Business Model Analyst badge and complete the series badge board.
How to play?
Briefing: You learn the route of the flight and your mission.
Task: Place each feature in the right group according to whether it mostly belongs to the low-cost or the full-service business model.
Decision moment: Choose the right path for a fictional full-service airline launching a low-cost sub-brand. Every good call earns flight hours; a wrong call costs fuel, but the flight goes on.
