On some routes a plane ticket can cost even less than making the same trip by road. The secret is not the low fare itself but a whole system built around low cost, from every minute the aircraft spends on the ground to the sales channel.
On this short flight accompanying the fifteenth episode of Airline Management Essentials, you separate whether the low-cost model saves in sales and service or in aircraft and operations, test load factor and turnaround calculations, and make a fictional airline's turnaround decision. When you complete the flight, you earn the Efficiency Specialist badge and add another star to your badge board.
How to play?
Briefing: You learn the route of the flight and your mission.
Task: Place each feature in the right group according to whether it mainly lowers costs in sales and service or in aircraft and operations.
Decision moment: Choose the right way for a fictional low-cost airline to cut its aircraft turnaround from forty-five to twenty-five minutes. Every good call earns flight hours; a wrong call costs fuel, but the flight goes on.
